Playing Smash Bros. Wii U.it's gud. Thursday, March 27, 2014. The Board Game Group Ecosystem. Games from my third game night. Having two very-fun game nights under my belt, I thought this next one could be the one I break out the bigger guns. People have enjoyed Escape twice over, and got a taste of Pandemic the week before. So, I gathered my selection and headed over with much excitement. By the end of the night, we only played one game of Cheaty Mages and Spot-It. Posted by Willie Hung. I focused on th...

I know no one from the Netherlands. Posted by Willie Hung. Thursday, February 12, 2015. Being a Realist, Making a "Real"-List. Buying new board games is as exhilarating to me as playing them, but sometimes the cult of the new can get out of control. Ive went into detail once before. Posted by Willie Hung. Gameritis: I Want to Bring Something to the Table...
http://gameritis.blogspot.com/2015/03/i-want-to-bring-something-to-table.html
Playing Smash Bros. Wii U.it's gud. Friday, March 13, 2015. I Want to Bring Something to the Table. At the Center of It All. The majority of board games out there require a flat surface to play on, preferably an elevated one surrounded by chairs for everyone's comfort. And unless you have a dedicated table purely for board games, dining and coffee tables are probably your go-to area for gaming. And what's the first thing you do before setting a game up? You clean the table. Of course, right? It's an extr...

Gameritis: September 2014
http://gameritis.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Playing Smash Bros. Wii U.it's gud. Friday, September 5, 2014. There is some major hatred over the inclusion of paper money in board games. Clearly, theres a mental association to Monopoly, a game that many older board gamers experienced in their youth. With a slew of unfinished games, number-crunching rents, and messy box innards before and after every setup, Monopoly memories are not particularly the fondest. With that going for it, is it any surprise for all the distaste? Posted by Willie Hung.

Gameritis: The Biggest Block in Board Games, and the One Step to Overcome It

Playing Smash Bros. Wii U.it's gud. Thursday, February 13, 2014. The Biggest Block in Board Games, and the One Step to Overcome It. There's a barrier to board games. I'm not talking about the lack of time, or the lack of people to play them with. I'm not talking about how becoming new parents and having to raise kids, or that you have a demanding job that takes up all free moments. It's much simpler than that, and it's staring you in the face. Just because there are no people to play with? You heard me&#...

This is yet another draft.]. Posted by Willie Hung. NoBloMo #28 - Reminiscing About NoBloMo. This past month has been quite a journey of non-editing free-flowing thought. About what their next stretch goal should be for Tiny Epic Galaxies. A game currently in Kickstarter. The two choices were to either add a 5th player (the original game was up to 4 players), or to add a solo variant. Throughout the voting period, it was a close race, with the solo variant winning in the end. If I could, I would destroy the wor...

Playing Smash Bros. Wii U.it's gud. Thursday, April 30, 2015. Nobody's Perfect: A Guide to Playing Imperfectly. There's an old adage that I started, a method in which to get your games out of their shelf slumber - emptying the box. It's a rule of thumb I still stand behind because it's a great disruptive push to get you to learn how to set up your games. But what else can you do to keep pushing that procrastinating envelope? Embrace Getting the Rules Wrong. And listen, I know you want to play the game ri...
