先日、イギリスとアメリカのグループから、肺がんと皮膚がんにおける遺伝子変異を大規模に解析した研究の成果が発表されました。興味のある方は こちら. この手の研究は、アメリカとヨーロッパでは盛んに行われておりますが、日本ではあまり見かけません。自分の癌のサンプルを研究用に引き渡す事に関する抵抗感と、臨床研究への予算は人手が少ない事が理由と思われます。 この現状については、日本の学会でも話題にはなっているようですが、これと言った具体的な改善策はないようです。我々としては、状況が改善されるまで待てないので、それまでは欧米の研究で得られた成果を我々なりの方法で活用する事が必要に思われます。そこにはコンピュータによるデータ解析が大きな役割を演ずる事が出来るはずなので、出来るだけ多くの場所でそれについてアピールしていきたいと思っています。 これについては、どこで研究をしているのか、誰が研究にお金を出しているかによって状況が変わってくるとは思います。イギリスで公的資金で研究を行う場合は、データは公開するのが原則です。予算を申請するときに、...とのことです。正しい指摘と言えなくもありませんが&...
