Site Inspection for GS FLX. Angeline Wang, a site inspector for Roche arrived from Taiwan on the 28 June to cast her eye over the preparations we had made to install the GS FLX system in Dunedin. This process involved checking power supplies, ancillary equipment, lab lay out, work flow plans, even the centrifuge rotor was checked. Thankfully we passed inspection and we were given the go-ahead to proceed to the next stage of Installation and training.

The first step to submitting a sample is to contact us at We will work with you on planning your experiment and determining the cost. Next, we will send you a contract, preferably by email, that describes the project. All sequencing projects are carried out under contract. This means that there is a clear description of the process we will use to get you the sequence data. Your DNA will then be sequenced and you will be contacted with details of your AOGS server account so you can collect your data.

http://sequence.otago.ac.nz/pricing.php
Pricing of projects varies widely. The costs depend on the template to be sequenced, desired read length, whether libraries are to be titrated for optimum sequence yield, etc. There are also many ways project cost can be reduced. For example, by barcoding samples multiple results can be obtained from the same plate and by using portions, rather than whole, GS FLX plates for a run. To price your sequencing project, please contact us at for an obligation-free quote.

Backup copies of all data will be stored by the AOGS for three months. The three month period will commence from sequence data transfer from the GS FLX instrument to the off-rig. During this time, clients need to ensure full back up copies of their data are made on their own system for permanent archiving. We will be unable to rescue data that has not been backed up once the three month period has expired.
