Been a lovely quiet peaceful day. Latin provided fun as he was working out roots of words. Maths was easier than he expected producing glee. English showed what huge inroads he has made into writing as he wrote a very competent advert. And all done by 10.15. We dug out some more Victorian replica bits for a look and then watched Victorian Bakers over lunch. We then got distracted by looking at my sewing and sharing stories about the different monarchs. We moved on to Sketch Tuesday. Click to print (Opens...
Homeschool | Ever After . . . My Way
https://everaftermyway.wordpress.com/twisted-templates
Ever After . . . My Way. I started to homeschool my oldest daughter because she has ASD and was suffering in school. When I began this journey, I could never have known how much I would learn. Now that I have started down this path, I will continue to homeschool all of my babies. I have used many different methods and for the most part have settled on a Waldorf-inspired method. You can read my thoughts on homeschooling here. A Bit Of This and A Bit Of That. A family’s Journey. A little crafty nest. The a...
Curriculum

To improve is to change. To be perfect is to change often. –. This is very, very definitely a work in progress! We don’t have a timetable as such. We have a rhythm and a routine to our weeks and days. Always a new one for a new year as we tweak the social side. It works best to get up and get on with core work first thing and ideally finished by 10.30. Leaving rest of time clear for the more hands on/going out stuff. The planning that didn’t fit elsewhere. This is turning out to be a subject we both really enjoy. Sam has been getting in to cartooning and drawing and I’ve taken to sitting drawing with him. He likes books to help and I’ve found a really good one for us to work through this year called How to Draw Cool Stuff. For us to work through. As we’re around on a Tues I might see if we can get back in to Sketch Tuesday. The idea is to explore as many different forms and media as possible, making art from things we find and inspired by what we see.

An Ordinand's (L)Wife!
Sunday, 18 July 2010. As I have been exceptionally pants at writing on my blog, and I am no longer the wife of an Ordinand I think it's time to quit! Maybe in the future I'll try bloggin again or maybe not! Saturday, 21 March 2009. It's official- I have one of my own now! It's finally happened, Beth has turned 13- aarrgghh! I am officially mother of a teenager. I feel like it should be a momentous occasion, given her behaviour on some days in the past 2 or 3 years, it's surprising she made it! It did rem...

anordinarilycrazygirl | Love, sex, depression, family. Life.
Love, sex, depression, family. Life. I haven’t blogged in such a long time! I moved into my new house and so far it has been great. I am actually in the middle of decorating my sons room and it is a ball ache! I go to the gym as well as swimming now. I absolutely love it! I wish I could go more but unfortunately can’t. I also volunteer now in a shop which is cool. I officially dropped out of uni. I really don’t have much to talk about! Oh and me and Sweet Pea got back together. I want to go out! I haven’...

an ordinary adventure
Prayer of a tired heart from hard years of hard weeks. This has been a tough week. And you already know i’ve been avoiding you. Because i didn’t get what i wanted. And as childish as that is to admit. I’ve been hurting and holding tight on to it. And not wanting to admit any of this to you. To be honest, it isn’t just this week,. Or last month, or last year. These last five years have been tough. This last decade has been tough. I spread my grown up wings. And seemed to struggle from harm. I stopped thin...

An Ordinary Affair | sometimes ordinary girls get placed in extraordinary situations
Sometimes ordinary girls get placed in extraordinary situations. What is this all about? Missed Goodbyes and Machetes. April 10, 2011. The leaving of Huanchaco:. We made it in time to our bus. Just in case you were wondering.). I have much more to say on Mancora and my leaving of Huanchaco, but I’m a firm believer in not throwing too much text at someone in one sitting. Carnival or: how I learned to stop worrying and love body glitter. March 13, 2011. Why, me, of course! I’ve done many things in my life ...

an ordinary average life | enjoying normalcy
An ordinary average life. March 13, 2017. Last Saturday was my birthday, marking 29 years of my life. I’ve never really cared/celebrate my birthday and although I welcomed and was happy of all the birthday wishes, the Skype calls, the messages, the voice messages…I still felt that loneliness creeping inside me. Still, the problem is not when or how you are born, how you live or die. It’s the loneliness. Continue reading →. Oranges Are Nature’s Medicine. February 15, 2017. Continue reading →. I was scroll...

An ordinary beautiful... | "Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing." ~Camille Pissarro
An ordinary beautiful…. Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing. Camille Pissarro. April 10, 2013. This is a homily, spoken April 9, 2013 in the evening Adoration service at the little stone church. It arises out of that worship context, but perhaps there are places in your own life where the gospel and your worship practices call into question your relationships, and what it means to be a body, both individual and communal.}. Unspoken accusations born of...
