Central Valley Turnout Refinements. Align the hacksaw blade on the inside of one of the rail paths through the frog and very carefully start to cut. Check the depth of the cut using the NMRA gauge. I wanted to mount the Tortoise switch machines horizontally so I built some brackets from 26 or 24 gauge sheet metal. If you need some brackets for your layout, print the template at full size. The New O and A RR. The Herman Haupt II is a modern day SD70Ace. It is the Successor of the USMRR 4-4-0 steam locomotive which was also named after the General Herman Haupt. Our intention is to have similar locomotives named after General Joseph Johnston, General Robert E. Lee, Ulysses Grant, Clara Barton, JH Devereaux, Stonewall Jackson to name but a few.
