We are located in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' in West Dorset, close to the borders with Devon and Somerset. The Jurassic Coast, including Lyme Regis and Charmouth, is less than seven miles away. The main house was built in 1874 as the school for the small hamlet of Holditch, which is situated two miles from the village of Thorncombe with its shop and post office. There is also a Spa shop at Perry Street.

View Axe Valley Garden Cottage. In a larger map. Follow the A358 from Chard to Axminster, turn left at Tytherleigh, down Broom lane cont*. From A35 to Axminster:. Take A358 to Chard, turning right at Tytherleigh sign, before Tytherleigh Arms, down Broom lane cont.*. Continue over railway crossing. Follow lane through Holditch past Manor Farm, and next two cottages on left, `Poppes Lawn` is on the sharp left hand bend. Please use 2nd gate on the left to the drive-way.

The Garden Annexe is single-story and self-contained. Conservatory/Lounge/Diner with settee, table and chairs and tv/dvd with underfloor heating. 1 Double bedroom with ensuite shower and w.c. Fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker, fridge and microwave. Small room with card table, log stove and storage heater. Patio with garden furniture. Use of acre garden including orchard and pond. Table tennis (available on lawn). Bed linen included (Please bring own towels). We kindly request no smoking in cottage.

To Axe Valley Runners' website. We used to be "the little club with the big feets" but we're not so little now, having about 200 members. Our homebase is Seaton in East Devon but many of our members hail from the surrounding area including Beer, Axminster and West Dorset. We cater for a wide range of abilities (10K times from 31 minutes to well over an hour) and ages (juniors 11-16 up to some members being in their seventies) . Oh, Limpy One!
