mad nomad – Travelling around the world on a motorcycle!: Nepal (2 years and 2.5 months in Asia) - mad nomad
http://madnomad.gr/main/en/greece2india/trip/nepa
The soul of the trip. There are the same problems with Nepalis that there are with Indians. The difference is that most Nepalis are a little bit more friendly than the Indians. Although, the same cheating of foreigners is happening, as in India. The country has amazing and varied beauty, from thick jungles with elephants, tigers, rhinos, deer, birds and a huge variety of other animals, to the high and deserted Himalayas! I covered 2,743 km. (1,704 miles) in 61 days in Nepal. Photos & Videos.

http://madnomad.gr/main/en/greece2india/make-a-difference
The soul of the trip. First of all, I would like to make something clear – I am not traveling under any charity work. I am traveling in order to meet different people, to get familiar with their civilization, live the way they live and comprehend their way of thinking. I am traveling because this is the way for me to be happy! Nevertheless, while traveling, I am trying to make a difference, within my power, and make our world a better place. I know, it may sound quite utopian the fact that no one would v...

The soul of the trip. Why I traveled solo. Most people are taken aback when they hear about my choice for a solo trip, without a fellow traveller. Of course, this choice generates some extra dangers. When someone travels alone, he is more susceptible to criminals and it is also by far more difficult to rescue himself in case of an accident or illness. Of course, there are some persons who might make my trip more pleasant if they would come with me. However, those persons are few and the persons who w...

Pikipiki 2 motorcycle touring. Africa – 2011. Quick view of trips. Before we embarked on this trip we were often warned of Russian xenophobia and endless red tape. All as a result of the Soviet legacy. This was ” after all” historically a closed country in which people could not leave or come freely. Suspicion of people from abroad, coming to Russia and doing something in Russia would supposedly be the norm. There is however always the exception and this is it:. The cause of our detour. From nowhere a gr...

Pikipiki 2 motorcycle touring. Africa – 2011. Quick view of trips. Lake Baikal, south-eastern Siberia. Lake Baikal, the world’s oldest and deepest freshwater lake, curves like a crooked finger for nearly 600km through south-eastern Siberia, north of the Mongolian border. Surrounded by mile-high snowcapped mountains, Lake Baikal offers vistas of unspoilt beauty. The mountains are still a haven for wild animals, while the few small remote villages are still outposts of tranquility untouched by tourism.

Here we are with Tserendugs brother and a friend. They help tremendously. The first half of the first day the lovely Kaia translates. And then my bike,...

Pikipiki 2 motorcycle touring. Africa – 2011. Quick view of trips. She calls it the OASIS. Today, 17 years later I sit with Sibylle in her garden of sunflowers. I ask and she tells, carefully and dearly. What can I say in words to equal your deeds, Sibylle! You build as much below-the-ground as above-the-ground, as much on the in-side as out-side. With no municipal services to tap into; you dig a well and install a wastewater system, central heating, a generator, a fuel pellet maker! Its just big enough ...

November 24, 2012. Germany to Vladivostok 2012. At home, our home, we wonder. ‘How do we hold onto a journey that is too big to hold? Will it help if we give it a name? We’ll get to hug a thing with a name! I dig deep for a little name that alludes to hugeness. I get it. The name of…. Read more →. November 20, 2012.
