One VO.G.'s Thoughts for the Day. 8220;Lest We Forget” – 11th November. I have been wearing my Adrian Buckley Poppy with pride this week and must say that I am very sad to read that many of our younger generation are oblivious to what this symbolises. The Red Poppy is worn in memory of all our Forces, men and women, who have been killed or injured in defence of this Country. Armistice Day started on 11th November, 1918 at the end of World War I. Coincidentally, my lovely young friend, Alexandra Saul.

Enjoy the country air, sit back, relax and enjoy the tasty delights of a fresh Cream Tea at Stonegate Farm. You can also browse the book and cake stalls - to name a few, and take part in the raffle and tombola with lots of great prizes to be won. The Cream Tea is only 2 and all money raised on the day will go to the Women’s Section welfare schemes.

The Royal British Legion. Chopsticks Memorial - The Peoples' Memorial Singapore World War 2. The Peoples Memorial stands across the road from Raffle's Club. It is known as the Chopsticks Memorial and honours the civilian population of SIngapore who died during the SIngapore invasion and occupation of the Japenese in World War 2.
