Fibers 4 Ewe: March 2011
http://fibers4ewe.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 28, 2011. Yesterday was shearing day. I was so excited to see what I got. I knew Charlie and Beauty's fleece would be nice, but I wasn't Sure about Lulu's. As a lamb we had her shorn to soon and then it was to short the following year as well so this was the first real fleece from her. Plus we would be able to tell if the ewe's were bred. I was glad to see that her fleece was a good length. She has such a nice dark chocolate brown fleece. Links to this post. Saturday, March 26, 2011. I'm no...

Fibers 4 Ewe: Pricing
http://fibers4ewe.blogspot.com/p/fibers-4-ewe-fiber-mill.html
All fiber is weighed prior to washing and then again before it is picked and carded. This way you are not paying for grease and dirt after the washing. No grease - $4.00/lb, Average grease - $6.00/lb, High grease- $8.00/lb, extra washes- $1.00. 200/lb for easy to handle fiber, $4.00/lb hard to handle fiber, these are fibers that are super slippery and tend to fall apart very easily. 200/lb plus the cost of fiber if needed. Order not paid within 60 days will become the property of fibers 4 Ewe, LLC.

http://fibers4ewe.blogspot.com/2011/04/dye-studio.html
Sunday, April 17, 2011. It looks like a mess, but it is a organized mess :) Both tables are preped and ready to go. This is roving that is all spun out and ready to be dyed, I'm doing this one some semi-solids. Here you can see that I use old milk jugs and make my most common colors by the gallon. The less common colors I use small soda bottles. Here is some of the of the fiber that I dyed drying on the clothes line. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Eleanor (who I am constantly amazed by – she’s a photographer and super crafty AND a licensed airplane pilot to boot! Gracious enough to include me in her booth at the Frosty Fair in Colchester, Connecticut. Eleanor’s seashell wreaths, her photos, and my shawls. I think I love seashells on wreaths. Who knew?
