I nearly forgot ~ Tan Tan, the town | Gambia on a Gapper!
http://gapper.magireland.org/2011/07/28/i-nearly-forgot-tan-tan-the-town
I nearly forgot Tan Tan, the town. By Marc on July 28, 2011. Worth a mention if only because it was a nice town. Not big, nor fancy, but friendly people and just a nice ‘vibe’ off the place. The hotel was a welcome retreat from the sun, with good rooms of a high (relatively) standard. We parked the Bikes in a big shed out the back, which was handy as for the first time on the trip some serious mechanicking was required. Above – the view from our last campsite. The phosphate plant! Tan Tan the town. Long ...

By Marc on February 27, 2011. 8230;well that was just plain strange. I get to Gatwick train station. I know I read the scrolling LED sign correctly on the platform. The last four carriages go to blah, blah, blah ARUNDEL and blah. please ensure you are in the correct part of the train. An eight carriage train it splits in two at some stage front bit going to one destination / rear to another. Fair enough. Until i get on, I’ve entered the rear end (just stop that now! Monday 14th March wild camp north of Dakhla to Dakhla town campsite. Still not there … yet. By Marc on January 21, 2012. Blunt, basic and to the point – get to Dakhla and find out as much as possible. Then keep on going as planned to the border and see…. They may not even let us into Mauritania if it really is bad. But we should get some idea between here and there of the likelihood of trouble. One thing we have is a ‘Plan B’. Sounds good – but talk is easy / action not so. Also, that I’m not exact...
