Friends of Caversham Court Gardens. Caversham 100 Years On. Dates for your 2016 diary! Commemoration of the Battle of the Somme. 1st July, 11am. To mark the centenary of the start of the Battle of the Somme, members of the British Legion will be gathering in Caversham Court Gardens at 11am on 1st July 2016. A short ceremony will be held in the vinery, where Head Gardener Will Paice will be planting a special commemorative border. Progress Theatre: A Midsummer Night's Dream. The guide is the final part of the Caversham 100 Years On project, launched in 2011 to celebrate the local heritage. The project, spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Caversham, the Caversham and District Residents Association and the Friends of Caversham Court Gardens, with support from Reading Borough Council, was awarded a grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Friends of Caversham Court Gardens. Caversham 100 Years On. The gardens are open to the public every day, except Christmas Day, 8am to dusk. The gazebo and vaults are open when a gardener is on site. Special events. Are sometimes held as well. Getting here and general information. The gardens are located on Church Road (A4074), about half a mile from Caversham Bridge. The main entrance is between St Peter's Church and The Griffin pub. There is a bike rack inside the main gates. Let us show you around.

Friends of Caversham Court Gardens. Caversham 100 Years On. 1 Green Flag and Green Heritage Awards. 2 Heritage Open Days. This year we will have volunteer guides in the Gardens on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September, between 2pm and 4.30pm on both days. There will be poetry and art installations around the Gardens, too. St Peter’s Church will be open for tours on Sunday 13th.
