Fiction, non-fiction, and nonsense from an American in Paris (sometimes). Preview: Collegiate Chorale Performs Weill’s ‘Road of Promise’. There may never have been a show as big as The Eternal Road. The sheer scale of the spectacle as originally conceived would be enough to discourage producers from reviving The Eternal Road. For Weill’s centennial, 63 years after the premiere, The Eternal Road. Was revived, in a restored edition under its original German title, Der Weg der Verheißung. At Carnegie Hall M...

Chorale Canon: Report from Verbier -- July 19th
http://collegiatechorale.blogspot.com/2009/07/report-from-verbier-july-19th.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Report from Verbier - July 19th. July 19, 2009. All the pieces were well received, but I think the spirituals got the most response—European audiences seem to love spirituals. We sang some of Nancy’s own arrangements, and some of Bob’s old favorites. Both of our encores were spirituals, including one I particularly associate with Bob, “Every Time I Hear the Spirit.”. A place for all things related to the Birmingham-Southern College Concert Choir and Hilltop Singers. Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Re: THE CHERRY TREE CAROL:. I'm totally intrigued about your observation in "The Cherry Tree Carol" that cutting the last verse doesn't give Joseph a chance for "redemption! While this is far from a religion class (we're performing artists more than we're about making a religious statement), coherence is important when performing a choral work! But I'm open to thoughts on this!
