The April Fest at the Village was introduced about ten years ago, when the first twenty homes were built. An Open Day was held to showcase the first completed residences to the public and was so popular that it was decided to hold this event again the next year, and the rest is history. Cafe de Tantes

Café de Tantes (meaning ‘the Aunties Café’) opened in September 2006. With a professional coffee machine donated by the Dutch Consulate, a group of six enthusiastic volunteers opened the doors. We now have ten volunteers! Each Wednesday, residents from Independent Units, Hostel, High and Special Care Units come to enjoy the Tantes coffee, cakes and lunches. Wednesdays have also become a day to look forward to for both the staff of Prins Willem Alexander Village and the residents’ friends and families.

Veteran’s Home Care is funded by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) and provides support for veterans who live in their own home. This support can include assistance with cleaning, shopping, personal services and basic home maintenance. The amount of care and the type of care/support provided is determined by the VHC Assessment Agency. COMMUNITY AGED CARE PACKAGES. Skilled and dedicated staff are available twenty-four hours a day to attend to the needs of all residents. In particular our Nursing Home and Hostel residents, often in need of extra care, receive a great deal of help and attention from our staff, a large percentage of whom speak Dutch, making communication easier.
