A Licensed Ocularist in the State of Washington is a medical-technical specialist who has been trained in Ocular Prosthetics and Scleral Cover Shells. To achieve licensing in the State of Washington the applicant must have completed five years (10,000 hours) of practical training under the supervision of a Certified Ocularist; instruction by ophthalmologists, ocularists, and other professionals; and an examination by the Washington State Board of Health.
