Recently I’ve got my first full-susser, a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite (or Professor Von Stumpy) . So far we’re getting on rather well, and I hope this will continue. So far the only things I’m looking to change are the grips (the supplied ones are a bit thin and hard for my tastes), and the pedals (it’s supplied with cleats! Cleats, I tell thee! Before we get there, let’s tackle the small matter of “That Hill”. The original Section Eight was a short bermy descent to the right of the fireroad. In 2008 (I think? A new, longer section was constructed, which is to the left of the fireroad. This is now the one true Section Eight! Section Eight can be very fast, sometimes alarmingly so!
