We were able to fish in the river on the Drummond Island Side. The night turned out to be amazing. We boated 5 King Salmon, 3 Atlantic Salmon and 3 Lake Trout. The largest King was 16lbs. Charter Fishing Detour, Hessel, St. Ignace and Cedarville. Monday, May 16, 2011. This Spring has been tough. This season has started by canceling our first three charters. The St. Marys river is full of mud and has made fishing very difficult. Lake Huron continues to be very cold which makes the fish lethargic. We boated 30 fish during the last two trips. 4 Kings, 6 Atlantics, 2 steelhead, and 18 lake trout. The May Flys are hatching which makes the planner board fishing amazing. 1 - 7 color leadcore with anything orange or green behind them are working great. We boated two Atlantic salmon and one 16lbs King Salmon. One week later our first charter of the year showed great results.
