A Vocational Duality: Motherhood and Freelancing: January 2005
http://freelancemother.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
A Vocational Duality: Motherhood and Freelancing. Monday, January 31, 2005. Who needs a mentor? It's always interesting when something you think was rather pointless turns out to be quite fortuitous, once you think about it enough. Yesterday I attended an event at my alma mater. Part of the New Hampshire Authors Series, in which local NH author Rebecca Rule. Interviews well-known authors tied to the University of New Hampshire. Yesterday's interview. Of award-winning novelist Charlotte Bacon. Not to ment...

http://www.thisgardenisillegal.com/2008/03/enter-to-win-a-free-urban-composter.html
What Kind of Flower Are You? Enter to Win a Free Urban Composter. March 4, 2008. One of the coolest things about being a garden blogger is that I get free stuff. Which sometimes doesn’t seem quite right. I get free stuff just for fretting and philosophizing about plants online. When did the world get that cool? The Scottish part of me is just in free heaven. Sometimes, I get free stuff and I like it. Sometimes, I get free stuff. So, I have set up an entry form and you can go here to sign up. For a chance...

VERMONT GARDENS: June 17, 2009
http://vermontgardens.blogspot.com/2009_06_17_archive.html
Always Growing Hardy Plants For Hardy Vermonters And Their Friends. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Seeing a large clump by the side of the road suggests something that has probably been growing for over 50 years. The background foliage is from Dicentra. Gold Heart'. This is a mutation from the common bleeding heart and has been around since about1997. Someplace I read that it was found in England. The prices finally came down enough that Gail bought some to offer customers. Labels: D...

VERMONT GARDENS: Heavy Rains, Happy Mother's Day
http://vermontgardens.blogspot.com/2009/05/heavy-rains-happy-mothers-day.html
Always Growing Hardy Plants For Hardy Vermonters And Their Friends. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Heavy Rains, Happy Mother's Day. Sunday, May 10, 2009. A cold morning here on the mountain with a slight wind and a rawness to the air that makes all of us want to stay inside for the morning. Karl the Wonder Dog apparently has an internal weather evaluator that suggests he continue to sleep in as I can hear him snoring in the other room. Usually he is already out and about but today is different. Next time you and ...

Darx Unplugged: February 2009
http://darxyanne.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2009. First sign of spring and zipper practice. Well, around here anyway. Remember how we planted that pea. The seed has germinated! Let's take a closer look, shall we? Can you see him there in the middle? In other news, I had a fun day of zipper practice last weekend. I started out with a mess of inherited 7" zippers (not the right size for the Cynthia Guffey. Zipper technique, she recommends using a 9" zipper):. Sunday, February 15, 2009. Takin' the Snap Pea Challenge. And I've ...

VERMONT GARDENS: Early Morning Bruiser
http://vermontgardens.blogspot.com/2009/06/early-morning-bruiser.html
Always Growing Hardy Plants For Hardy Vermonters And Their Friends. Sunday, June 14, 2009. Sunday, June 14, 2009. We headed down the road towards the pond and had hardly passed the mailboxes when he froze in the road, so statue-like that I almost pulled his collar off. With coffee spilling and expletives flying we had stopped dead in front of the lower hosta. Dirt road of two centuries existence. And a recent topping of calcium chloride. Had packed it harder. Into the hard pan. Have to get along. The...

Geee-why–rose | One Local Summer in the Black Hills of South Dakota
https://blackhills.wordpress.com/2007/07/30/geee-why-rose
One Local Summer in the Black Hills of South Dakota. One Local Summer in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Or Gyros if you really want to say it right. I am racking my brain to come up with more countries to make food from! But here ya go, OLS Greek style. I made my own Pita Bread! Whole wheat flour, local honey, applesauce from the FM. I cheated and mixed the dough in my bread machine dough setting. I rolled them into balls and let them rest. Then I squished them in the tortilla press:. From your own site.

Laquo; i was born a tiger. 52 stories, week 5: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me. February 8, 2009 by michelecat. For the 52 stories group on flickr. Henry passed the booth four, five, six times. He circled the bazaar, purchasing a glass bottle, pickled herring and anise seeds along the way. Each time he ended up in front of the red and white striped booth, staring at the wrinkly woman with the Kisses, $1.00″ sign around her neck. No, the woman whispered. I. I must have this kiss. A dollar’s worth, anyhow. If la...

Borage for Courage: Thyme Tomatoes
http://borageforcourage.blogspot.com/2008/09/thyme-tomatoes.html
Monday, September 1, 2008. I've grown a wide variety of tomatoes this year. The gold-colored Kellogg's Breakfast and Sungolds, the gold and pink striped Hillbillies, the pink Brandywines, the red Soldackis, Camp Joys and Romas, and the purple Cherokee Purples and Black Cherries. Mix and match that with the Green Zebras my mother in law is growing down the street, and you have the makings of some really pretty dishes. February 15, 2009 at 1:46 PM. Borage for Courage: August 2008
http://borageforcourage.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 24, 2008. What do you do with the mid-season glut? This problem has plagued gardeners for time immemorial: the feast and famine of favored vegetables. A month ago, I was begging for ripe tomatoes, now I have more than I know what to do with. In another month, I'll be wishing for them again. Such is life. So what do you do when you have too much of a good thing? Midsummer's Pasta (serves 3-4). 1/2 lb fresh mozzarella, diced. 1 clove garlic, crushed. 1/2 cup good extra-virgin olive oil.
