Sunday, February 27, 2005. IBL Team Report - After Draft team Analysis. Well my team in IBL is pretty much set. Within the next 10 days I need to trade or cut one player as I am acquiring CHN Wuertz from SPO as part of a draft deal we made with one another. My team is going to look like this:. Gonzalez, TB,. TOR Gomez - For the last 4 years FLA Gonzalez has been the starter for COU, but now he will only play vs. lefties and for defensive replacement. Why? We don't have the strongest back end of a rotatio...

Friday, December 31, 2004. I have big hopes for Cubs 1st base prospect Brian Dopirak. Last season he put on a clinic in. By hitting 39 hr's and having an OPS of .956. So it was nice to see that John Sickels. Next season Brian will more than likely start in. And probably find the pitching more difficult and not hit 39 hr's again. I think that he will have a nice OPS this year, but his main concern should be his batting eye while he is there. With the trade and the big extension to Derek Lee. Looking at Er...

Thursday, March 31, 2005. Hagerty and Sisco Update. The Florida Marlins returned rule 5 pick Luke Hagerty. Today He had struggled with a blister on his finger and control problems early in the camp. Hopefully the Cubs can get him back on track to where he was before surgery as he was one of our top prospects. In other news the Royals have decided to keep Andy Sisco. Posted by Greg Abcarian at 4:27 PM. Monday, March 28, 2005. The Cubs lefty situation and other roster moves. And optioned Wil Ohman. On the ...

Wednesday, October 12, 2005. Offseason finally here: Coaching staff retained. The Cubs are probably feeling the way my headline posts. After what was a disappointing year for them, the Cubs players can finally put this year behind them and hopefully forget about most of it. Are you telling me in this time they never learned fundamentals? Posted by Greg Abcarian at 3:55 PM. This a blog about baseball and the Chicago Cubs. There also will be articles about my family and a simulation league I am in (IBL).

Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Wil Ohman called up. The Cubs have placed Chad Fox. On the 15-day DL today and recalled lefty Wil Ohman. Posted by Greg Abcarian at 3:22 PM. As he has had 2 major surgeries on that arm and though I am positive he is finished this year, I hope he can make a comeback in future if he desires. Patterson did not start yesterday with flu like symptoms, so if he was not well enough to start, why did Dusty put him in the game to pinch-hit? Posted by Greg Abcarian at 11:43 AM. Jon has bee...

Saturday, May 28, 2005. Well the Cubs have traded. Latroy Hawkins and cash considerations to the San Francisco Giants today. This trade makes me happy because Latroy needed to get out of Chicago and I like to two players we have acquired for him, David Aardsma. This season Jerome struggled with the Giants and was sent down to the minors to correct his problems, but they seem to have stayed with him in. If the Cubs keep him in. Sunday, January 30, 2005. OF Situation not looking so good. Well I am all for getting rid of Sammy Sosa, but only if it means bringing in a better or equal product. It is not looking like that will happen. Hairston is not the best option at LF, so he will be splitting time at 2b with. Walker and that doesn't really help us too much. Thursday, June 30, 2005. Enrique Wilson era over! The Enrique Wilson era has come to an end. I know like myself Cub fans are mourning all over the world. Ok, maybe not, can this mean the Cubs are starting to get serious? They brought up Ronny Cedeno and hopefully they are going to play him 4-5 times a week, though Dusty probably will prohibit that from happening. Posted by Greg Abcarian at 1:53 PM. Thursday, September 22, 2005. Cubs Update: Murton maybe LF 2006. Also Jerome Williams is making a case for staying in the rotation next season. He has been very inconsistent since joining the Cubs, making a decent start and then coming back with a below average start. Williams this month has been on the money for the most part and looks to have found the confidence he had lost earlier this year in. Posted by Greg Abcarian at 12:51 PM. Monday, September 12, 2005. Had Dusty already thrown in the towel?
