Because I'm There: The highest bin man in the East
http://becauseimthere.blogspot.com/2011/05/highest-bin-man-in-east.html
And I'm not climbing it. Wednesday, 4 May 2011. The highest bin man in the East. The higher and closer the town to Base Camp, the more disgusting it got. In keeping with the high level of customer service, we turned up in a scrubby, yak-dung smelling town called Nylam to be told that the rooms we’d booked (in the only decent hotel) three months ago had been given away to another expedition. Did they care? Throw him out, knowing he probably won’t survive the night? This is the unpleasant, morally bankrupt...

Because I'm There: Crash, Bang and Truck Wallop
http://becauseimthere.blogspot.com/2011/04/crash-bang-and-truck-wallop.html
And I'm not climbing it. Sunday, 24 April 2011. Crash, Bang and Truck Wallop. Oh Christ, did anyone die? 25 April 2011 at 02:38. Wow Gina, sounds like your going through it. All character building stuff Im sure. Hope you get your kit sorted. Ian. 26 April 2011 at 14:09. My bottom was doing its best impression of a fire hose Tut! Is this what they teach you up there in Manchester or wherever the hell you come from? With bated breath until your next blog. And a very pretty bottom it is. Fire hose or not.

Because I'm There: Over the Border to China
http://becauseimthere.blogspot.com/2011/04/over-border-to-china.html
And I'm not climbing it. Thursday, 28 April 2011. Over the Border to China. After a couple of days’ rest and recuperation, we set off for the foolishly named “Friendship Bridge” that spans the border of Nepal and Tibet. Funny that the Chinese have constructed it in such a way that tanks could easily cross it, too. I was still not allowed spicy or fried foods, so I glumly slurped bland vegetable soup while everyone else enjoyed Yak spring rolls (yes, I did want to eat them). I've never been at high altitu...

Because I'm There: A bit of rough
http://becauseimthere.blogspot.com/2011/04/bit-of-rough.html
And I'm not climbing it. Thursday, 21 April 2011. A bit of rough. Yes, I'm still alive! Unfortunately all our "extreme comms" have succumbed to the "extreme" bit and promptly died or failed en route to Base Camp. Also, couldn't blog in Nepal (ill) or China (banned), so this'll be a long 'un. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I've descended 21,300 feet to Derbyshire. Hurrah. Subscribe to this blog. Over the Border to China. Crash, Bang and Truck Wallop. A bit of rough.

Because I'm There: Double Blog
http://becauseimthere.blogspot.com/2011/05/double-blog.html
And I'm not climbing it. Monday, 2 May 2011. By the way, those of you who have decided to pay Mr Murdoch for a Times Online subscription may wish to note that I (and some other team members) are blogging for the Sunday Times. Even though my humour is more like the Daily Sport. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I've descended 21,300 feet to Derbyshire. Hurrah. Subscribe to this blog. The highest bin man in the East. Because I'm There: What happened on Everest, stays on Everest?
http://becauseimthere.blogspot.com/2011/09/what-happened-on-everest-stays-on.html
And I'm not climbing it. Monday, 5 September 2011. What happened on Everest, stays on Everest? I will write it all up. I promise. Very soon. It's just that I start shuddering every time I remember the horror in any detail - the days my brain had enough oxygen to be disgusted, that is. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I've descended 21,300 feet to Derbyshire. Hurrah. Subscribe to this blog. What happened on Everest, stays on Everest? Picture Window template. Powered by Blogger.
