Eric's World of Food: March 2010
http://ericsfood.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Eric's World of Food. Favorite recipes, food experiences and commentary. Thursday, March 18, 2010. It's just over four years since I moved from Virginia to Denver. Now I'm moving to the Hudson Valley. I lived in the northeast until I was 42 and I'm happy to be returning to familiar territory. I look forward to again finding my favorite apple varieties, grades of maple syrup other than A, locally made cheddar, bialys and pastrami when I daytrip to Manhattan, and lobster and clams when I hit the coast.

http://rickrodgers.com/2015/03/zeppole-for-st-joesphs-day.html
Zeppole for St. Joesph's Day. March 19, 2015. Im not Italian. Not a drop. But I have worked with some incredible (one might even say iconic) Italian cooks, including Sal Scognomillo. At Patsys Restaurant in New York City (Sal would want me to say, NOT the pizza place! Frankie Avalon, and Carrabbas. Restaurants. When I lived near Hoboken, I bought my zeppole. At none other than Carlos City Hall Bake Shop, then, as now, the Cake Bosss place. I have cooked and eaten so many zeppole. 3 cups whole milk. 1&fra...

Berry Meringue Slices - Rick Rodgers
http://rickrodgers.com/2015/07/berry-meringue-slices.html
July 02, 2015. Its been over a dozen years since I first had this perfect summer dessert while researching my KAFFEEHAUS. Cafe, one of the most venerable spots in the center of the city near St. Stephens, I saw a big tray of layered cake in an old-fashioned metal baking pan, topped with red currants and meringue. Hans shared the recipe for the book, and I adapted it for more readily available blueberries. Is this the perfect Fourth of July dessert? Austrian baking has an entire family of Schnitten. 3 Spr...

July 15, 2011. Celebrate with one (or both) of these terrific tiki. Drinks. For some inexplicable reason, tiki. Drinks fell out of fashion for a couple of decades. Perhaps the reason was that bartenders (both professional and rumpus room barkeeps) got lazy and didnt want to bother measuring out the various ingredients. Phooey, I say! Get out a jigger, go buy some paper umbrellas, and get shakin. Ladies and gentlemen, I offer you (bongo drum-roll here) the Mai Tai and the Blue Hawaiian! Recently, I took a...

Chicken Savoy - Rick Rodgers
http://rickrodgers.com/2015/05/chicken-savoy.html
May 04, 2015. Chicken Savoy is a popular dish at many Italian restaurants in my area. How popular? There are people who call it “the unofficial state dish of New Jersey.” Mamma mia. Take that Italian hot dog! Don’t know what an Italian hot dog is? I’ll tell you later…). If you don’t live in North Jersey, you probably never heard of of Chicken Savoy. In classic Italian cooking, there is no specific. In the same way that there is. Listen up, or I’ll sic the ghost of Uncle Pussy Bonpensiero. The breasts are...
