NOLA Chefs' Aid for the Philippines. NOLA Chefs’ Aid for the Philippines. Brings together here in our great city of New Orleans our love of good food and our equally strong love of family and community. We know what it is like to suffer. After eight years parts of our city are still recovering from Hurricane Katrina. Our suffering helps us to keep focused on what is most important in life, and it urges us to reach out with a helping hand to those who also suffer. Ralph Brennan, Ralph Brennan Restaurant G...

Six years ago I found myself bored sitting behind a computer at my day job. I began keeping an online food journal, documenting what I ate for lunch each day and beers I had with friends over the weekend. It quickly grew into an expression of food and culture called Bite and Booze. As the blog continued to grow, I grew my writing portfolio with different magazines and websites. Currently, I maintain the Bite and Booze. Blog, contribute monthly columns and recipes to Louisiana Cookin' Magazine.

The Adventures of a Northern Boy with a Bayou Bent. In the interest of(under 500 words). April 1, 2014. Middot; by AccidentalCajun. I’m easily distracted these days; my mind wanders like a child lost in the woods — directionless. I have never done well with too much time on my hands. Despite all this time, I have accomplished little in the way of meaningful work. Instead I have frittered away most of it in waiting, but I’m not exactly sure what I’ve been waiting on. The Adventures of a Northern Boy with a Bayou Bent. Monthly Archives: May 2013. I Walk the Line. May 14, 2013. Middot; by AccidentalCajun. New Orleans made national news on Sunday for a shooting at a second line; it was widely misreported across the country as a Mother’s Day parade, which in my opinion is what gave the story legs. Otherwise it would have just been another shooting in New Orleans. There are so many things that I could […]. And Then the Bottom Fell Out (Or How Soul Food Lost Its Soul).

The Adventures of a Northern Boy with a Bayou Bent. Monthly Archives: December 2013. December 28, 2013. Middot; by AccidentalCajun. It seems I’ve taken to writing about once a month. That’s probably entirely too infrequently, but lately it’s all I can muster. I seem to be suffering from some sort of spiritual ennui that my own manner of introversion exacerbates. The remnants of a purple feather boa are stuck in the brushes of the vacuum cleaner, and the atonal mandolin player is once again outside my window — both are annoyance that won’t go away anytime soon.
