Thursday, 30 October 2014. Crazy Cat meets acid! I blame this all on Mel. Saw the post on Miss Crayola Creepy. S blog and convinced us (the WSBN) that it would be a great thing to do in a group. Was that going to stop me? So to cut a long story short, the Crazy Acid Cat skirt was born! I bought this fabric from MrsC's shop Made Marion. It's a kind of fine cotton twill, so quite stiff, but presses like a dream. I knew straight away after seeing the fabric how to make it up. There was actually not that muc...

Sew Biased: October 2013

Wednesday, 23 October 2013. Hot Patterns Martini Jacket. I have had the HP Martini Jacket. Pattern for a while, but was undecided on fabric. I could see this being a really solid piece in my wardrobe. Well my idea of a neutral colour went out the window when I found 'the' fabric. A gorgeous poly/viscose fabric with a quilted look and a large floral printed on it. I wasn't thinking of the conundrum of pattern matching and other such trifles - I just had to have it! The fabric has a spongy texture, so I en...

Sent from my iRon. Things I make and Do. Monday, January 26, 2015. A Productive Day Off. Lately my Sunday off has meant reading novels and not much else. I'm a bit brain dead, what with working long hours and this heat. But, it drives me bananas too when there are so many jobs outstanding! So, I resolved that in spite of the heat and the lethargy, I was going to knock off two important domestic creative projects. It has Tartars on horses! And flowers as big as the Tartars on the horses and the goats!

http://sentfrommyiron.blogspot.com/2015/07/winter-warmers-footies.html
Sent from my iRon. Things I make and Do. Monday, July 13, 2015. With due apologies to those suffering in Northern Hemisphere heat waves, it's freaking cold down under and my feet are suffering. So, I decided to make some "footies" out of merino. I bought a 5 pack of these foot cover things from a big box store and they are too big, and not as cotton as they say they are, and I feel I could do better. The commercial ones. No they don't change colour on my feet, I was wearing odd ones! Put a Fold arrow on ...
