Trident Pneumatic Antenna Launcher
http://www.wd6cmu.antennalaunchers.com/launcher3.htm
Pneumatic Tennis Ball Launcher. Which weighed almost 22lb. This picture shows the components of the Trident launcher. At the bottom is the launcher with 2.5" tennis ball barrel installed. Above it are the line reel, optical sight, and ram rod. Above them are the 2" barrel and Pocket Vortex projectile. The valve used is a Rain Bird CPF-100 1" sprinkler valve with flow control. This is the same valve as was used in the second generation launcher. Or that have destructively tested the bottles to 170psi.

Motherhood - Negresco #4. Post a new comment.

Randy's Rocketry: October 2014
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 24, 2014. Propellant testing (Dextrose, Sorbitol, Erythritol). KNER (erythritol based propellant). That test cato'd half way through the burn. I do still want to redo that test, but this time with a stepped core. After that test I reduced the segments to 6 and it was successfully flown. I plan to fire this motor as a 4 segment and as a 6 segment motor, with some luck I may get the 8 segment motor ready as well. Saturday, October 18, 2014. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Randy's Rocketry: February 2015
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 2, 2015. Theo and I stopped by the F-1 rocket engine display outside of the Aerojet Rocketdyne facility in Chatsworth, CA yesterday. He was impressed. Randy's Rocketry: February 2013
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 28, 2013. SStS, CSD UPDATE. Chamber Separation Disk (CSD) in the Mid-Bulkhead. I completed the modifications to the MBH ,CSD, and plug recently. The entire DSS TM-1-2 test motor is now with another project member undergoing hydrostatic testing. There seems to be a lot of mixed feelings about this approach, I'm just hoping it works. Hopefully the testing goes well and we can get to a test firing soon. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). SStS, CSD UPDATE. Rocketry and related sites.

Randy's Rocketry: 2.375" Motor Updated
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2009/10/2375-motor-updated.html
Sunday, October 25, 2009. I changed the design again. I decided to optimize the it for KNER propellant by adding two additional segments. The additional propellant brings the motor up to a solid L-class motor and the chamber pressure sims. at right about 1000psi. I'm hoping to have an opportunity to test fire it for the first time in early December. Update: I updated the SRM output to correct a mistake. I had been using the wrong grain OD. Do you fly at FAR or RRS? Itd be an interesting test to see.

Randy's Rocketry: Propellant testing (Dextrose, Sorbitol, Erythritol)

Randy's Rocketry: Dextrose
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2014/10/dextrose.html
Saturday, October 18, 2014. I assumed that most of the water would be driven off during casting but that was apparently not the case. More on that in a bit. As far as dextrose based propellant (KNDX) goes I decided I needed to get more experience with it. The first step was to remove the water from the dextrose and from anhydrous dextrose. This was done (as suggested by Richard Nakka's site. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Propellant testing (Dextrose, Sorbitol, Erythritol. Rocketry and related sites.

Randy's Rocketry: I-Class nozzle complete
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2015/01/i-class-nozzle-complete.html
Friday, January 16, 2015. Drilled and tapped the nozzle this morning. I don't think that I mentioned it earlier but the steel is 12L14 steel, commonly refered to as Ledloy because of addition of lead (0.15-0.35%). It's really nice stuff to work with. Here are a couple of pictures. 12L14 steel is the best for work, to my mind. My friend used it for making details to his range rover. We spent several days in the garage, but it was worth it. Randy's Rocketry: August 2014
http://randysrocketry.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 29, 2014. TR-1 Rocket Motor Casing. With the casing now completed I will focus on completeing the bulkhead and with that I will have all of the motor componets. Then I'll turn my attention to making some simple casting tools for the 4" diamter grain segments. I'm also gathering a list of supplies that I'm hoping to order soon including screws, o-rings, Sorbitol, casting tubes, and a few other misc. bits. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Monday, August 25, 2014. TR-1 Rocket Motor Update.
