Kourallinen arpakuutioita: maaliskuuta 2012

Maanantai 26. maaliskuuta 2012.

Kourallinen arpakuutioita: joulukuuta 2011
http://grondiogenes.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Lauantai 31. joulukuuta 2011. Viikko 52 - modernia sotaa ja vuosi paketissa. Vuoden viimeinen viikko meni lähinnä modernin sodankäynnin merkeissä, tuon joulun tienoilla hankitun Force on Forcen sääntöjä on tullut lueskeltua, ja toki siihen piti aavistuksen hankkia joukkojakin. Brittiläistä Model Hobbiesia. Joku minulle suositteli, joten päätin asian tiimoilta laittaa putiikin testiin, ja tilasin neljä boksia 1/72 -skaalan sotilaita tuleviin rähinöihin. Eli USAn eliittijoukkoja. Perjantaina pääsimme sitte...

18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Sunday, 28 October 2012. My favourite war game. I had a game of "Charge" yesterday, just a simple line them up encounter leaving out the battalion guns and light infantry. The forces of Altstein in blue are led by Von Bruckenheim and the Eisenburg-Essling army, mostly in white, are led by Fritz von Essling. The positions after move one. The light cavalry clash, the Altstein blue hussars are well beaten and flee the field. The Altstein infantry advance. The Meisse...

http://paulywaulyswargamesblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/bottleneck-one-hour-wargames.html
18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Thursday, 9 April 2015. Bottleneck :- One-Hour Wargames. Day off today so I played another scenario from One Hour Wargames. It was number 24 : Bottleneck. The victorious Altsteiners find a small blocking force barring their way. The Altsteiners mass on their right flank hoping to bypass the lake and avoid the woods. Prince Johan is in command of the defenders. His dragoons cover the left flank. The Altstein right flank advances. And come within musket range.

18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Tuesday, 14 April 2015. Late Arrivals: more One Hour Wargames. Next I played Scenario 10: Late Arrivals. I deemed that the Altstein forces would have retreated after their setbacks and are coming together near Korbruck. The Eisenburgers are attacking and are led by Fritz von Essling, who has recovered from his injuries and Prince Johan. The Altsteiner have a couple of battalions trying to hold on until the reinforcements arrive. He dashes about steadying the men.

18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Monday, 4 April 2011. The Battle of Korbrucke - I love wargaming! The Battle of Korbrucke, fought yesterday, was one of the most enjoyable wargames I've played. I suppose that not having played a game of "Charge" for about five months is a part of it, a timely reminder of what a fine set of rules Charge really are. By this time the gun battery was set up and preparing to enfilade the Altstein Grenadiers which may have had a crucial effect on the battle. With the ...

18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Tuesday, 10 January 2012. Inspired by Prince Lupus at the Wars of Wine and Cheese blog and frustrated at the length of time required to play "Charge! Due to the singly based soldiers I've decided to base the close order troops into eights and threes for infantry and cavalry respectively. Prince Lupus has some rule amendments to allow for this, especially for cavalry melees. I thought I would mark casualties with dice until there is enough to remove a whole stand.

18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Monday, 6 April 2015. Battle at Offenheim, more One Hour Wargames. The second battle of my mini campaign was played using Scenario 21: Twin Objectives from Neil Thomas' One Hour Wargames. The battle was deemed to have taken place at Offenheim just South of Stammfeld. The Eisenburgers are attempting to hold the town and the rough high ground. The Eisenburg defenders of Offenheim. A battalion defends the high ground. Someone's peeping out of the cottage door. I go ...

Pauls Wargames Blog: Battle at Hecksheim Bridge
http://paulywaulyswargamesblog.blogspot.com/2015/04/battle-at-hecksheim-bridge.html
18th Century imaginary wars in miniature. Tuesday, 7 April 2015. Battle at Hecksheim Bridge. Here's another One Hour Wargame, this time Scenario 18 : Counter attack. An Eisenburg force is attempting to cut off the Altsteiners by taking the town of Hecksheim but they run into a large force of Altsteiners heading for Eisenburg territory. An Eisenburg battalion arrives at the bridge. As they cross the river a large force of Altsteiners pour out of Hecksheim. There are loads of them. Lancers charge the guns.
