The Art of Teabag Staining (and other stories): Getting Through
http://cloclo1.blogspot.com/2015/01/getting-through.html
Sunday, 25 January 2015. Despite my promises to blog more often, I have allowed a week to pass without a post. Sometimes life gets in the way, but I am going to make the effort to post today to catch up with what we have been up to. The last few days have involved the following. I currently have a chilli con carne cooking in there - let's hope this one turns out well. J and I have had tea parties in the lounge. Frozen strawberries and blueberries, plum, pear and grapes. I have also been to my friend's su...

The Art of Teabag Staining (and other stories): Progress
http://cloclo1.blogspot.com/2015/02/progress.html
Wednesday, 25 February 2015. It's been an extremely busy few weeks chez Watson. Going back to work after the half term holiday has been a bit hectic and very exhausting as I struggle increasingly with my hips and back while I waddle around school, but I only have five more weeks to go now until mat leave and I'm definitely counting down! Thirty weeks now, I don't know where the time has gone. I decided to knit the sleeves onto the jumper rather than setting in (as I. I have also had a go at some more flo...

The Art of Teabag Staining (and other stories): Smoothie Experiments
http://cloclo1.blogspot.com/2015/01/smoothie-experiments.html
Thursday, 15 January 2015. My quest to get my five a day in smoothie form continues, and I have to say I do feel the benefit of them, at least my stomach does! One of the latest attempts has been this:. Frozen Black Forest Mix, a pear, grapes and some blueberries, topped up with some water. It produced this:. Quite runny without a banana to thicken it but I actually appreciate that thinner consistency sometimes, and very refreshing with the pear and grapes. Another attempt was this:. I live with my husba...

Laura crochets: April 2010
http://lauracrochets.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Thursday, 29 April 2010. The joys of spring. I'm trying to convince myself that blogging gets easier with practice. but I'm not one for actually communicating. Most of the time I wander round in my own little bubble-world. I haven't done as much crafting as I'd like to lately for a variety of reasons. I started and finished the lovely Lyra's Stole. The bag at the bottom right is a 'Miya' bag from Nicsknots. Please ignore the ripply chain - I'll try and sort it...

Laura crochets: Multicoloured
http://lauracrochets.blogspot.com/2009/11/multicoloured.html
And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Wednesday, 25 November 2009. I liek bright colours, al the more so at this time of year with the long hours of darkness that trigger my SAD, badly. :(. A few weeks ago I gathered up all my yarn scraps and started working on my never-ending granny-square afghan, using the aran to bulky weight yarns. By the time I decided it was big enough it was a good 6 foot square:. And another shawl. This time (another) Eva's Shawl. Sock yarn's not just for socks! From Inter...

And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Tuesday, 4 May 2010. I've done a little shop update today. On MISI. There's some bright and fruity laceweight. There are some sweet flowers:. And reads, and cooks, and spins, and crafts. Tuesday, 28 April 2009. I bought myself a big jar and had a go at dyeing mercerised cotton. I wanted sort-of peacock colours, and proceeded to pour in a variety of shades of blue, green and purple but was alarmed when my jar looked like this:. But my 'cakes' were more like. donuts? Mercerised cotton, it seems, doesn't collapse so readily in on itself after being removed from the wall winder. The colour ended up as variegated turquoise/blue. Not as bright a...

The Art of Teabag Staining (and other stories): Fun and Games
http://cloclo1.blogspot.com/2015/01/fun-and-games.html
Sunday, 11 January 2015. Thought I'd post a little update of what we've been getting up to in the last few days. We've been to the Herbert Museum in Coventry enjoying sensory play. It was rainbow themed and we spent time crawling through multicoloured ribbons and fabrics and foam shapes. The Herbert Museum is a lovely resource for the city, we really should make more use of it than we do. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a history teacher in a big secondary school in Coventry. I teach kids ab...
