Niki's Long Haul. Silverado Canyon Creatures of the Night. March 7, 2014. This was a night walk with Naturalist for You. That was described as an owling outing up Silverado Canyon. We may have only heard the owls, but the other critters we found made up for the visual absence of the owls. I was so happy to have seen my first slender salamander. I unknowingly captured a couple of beetles while taking a pic of this tree frog. A millipede crawling under Joel’s hand. And close by was this cute California newt.
