What's happening on the Outer Banks, NC. Monday, August 10, 2015. Two oceanfront houses in Corolla destroyed by dawn fire. Three people escaped from a fire that eventually destroyed two homes and damaged a third on the Corolla oceanfront early Saturday morning. Firefighters were called to the 800 block of Lighthouse Drive at 4:50 am. Crews from departments in Currituck and Dare counties declared the blaze under control by 11 am. The cause of the fire is not yet known. On August 8, 2015.
