A pair of bobbins made with wrapping paper. A fatter bobbin made with thicker paper. I first published this 'pattern' in 1990 as a fun project in the Lace Guild's 'Young Lacemaker' magazine which I edited at that time. Terry's hobbies are birdwatching, wildlife and walking with the dogs, Sam and Mack. This is Terry swimming with a dolphin in Cuba. For more pictures of our holiday in Cuba click here. This is Sam, a Yellow Labrador. Hard to believe sometimes, but he has several obedience champions in his pedigree. Sam was born in 1994 so he's quite elderly now. Torchon Mat with Spiders. Original worked with DMC Special Dentelles and a Perle 12 for the worker and outer passive. Requires 32 pairs of bobbins:. 12 pairs brown, 9 pairs orange 9 pairs cream, about 30 w/cm. 1 pair cream for worker, 1 pair cream for outer passive, about 20 w/cm. Techniques used: spiders and coronet shell edge. When I can locate the piece of lace I will add a bigger picture! The pattern will be changed again sometime during 2011.
