Pheasant Tail Lodge Location. Our Location - Galatea. We are 400m from the Whirinaki Road Bridge on Whirinaki Road. From Rotorua or Taupo:. Take State Highway 5. Turn into State Highway 38 - sign says Murapara. Travel to Murapara (31km). Continue through Murapara township for 5kms and turn left (Whakatane, Whirinaki Road sign). Continue for 3kms and go over the Whirinaki Road Bridge. Pheasant Tail Lodge is the first property on the left: 580 Whirinaki Road. Take State Highway 30. Turn left on Galatea Road.
