PJM Settlement, Inc. is a subsidiary of PJM Interconnection LLC and is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation that will have a service agreement with PJM to provide and retain services, including PJM staff support. PJM Settlement, Inc. was established in 2010 and became operational in 2011. The subsidiary was formed to provide counterparty rights to PJM on behalf of its members in pool transactions. All PJM member settlement activities are now being handled by the subsidiary.

PJM Settlement, Inc. administers the accounting for all aspects of the PJM Interconnection grid and the wholesale market, including installed capacity, the purchase and sale of energy, transmission services and ancillary services. Monthly and weekly invoices for all grid services under the PJM Open Access Transmission Tariff, Operating Agreement and Reliability Assurance Agreement are prepared for each market participant. These agreements can be found on PJM’s website on the Agreements Web page.

Rates for member transactions through PJM Settlement, Inc. are the same rates that are applied in the parent company, PJM Interconnection. PJM’s rates are approved by the PJM Board of Managers. Which are recommended by the PJM Finance Committee (FC). The Finance Committee reviews the PJM operating and capital budgets before presenting them to the PJM Board for approval. The most current stated rates are available on PJM’s website on the Finance Committee’s Rates Web page.
