BMEM is free software to conduct mediation analysis with missing data. BMEM implements the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm together with the MLE estimation method for model parameter estimation. To test mediation effects, a bootstrap method is used to calculate three types of confidence intervals - the percentile interval, the bias-corrected (BC) interval, and the bias corrected and accelerated interval (BCa). R is very flexible for data manipulation. In conducting simulation, R can call external software such as SAS and Mplus. Many examples on how to use R and external software are provided. For example, one example is on how to conduct bootstrap for mediation analysis using Mplus with auxiliary variables.
