It's Not Too Late to Stop ROE 8! This weekends walk was amazing! As the sun shone we were able to pause and enjoy watching 3 Red-tail black cockatoos grooming and playing in the branches above. These guys are a regulars and we encourage everyone to come and see these amazing birds for them selves. A rapidly growing group of dedicated campaigners has been fighting to preserve Bibra Lake and North Lake from Roe Highway Stage 8 development for decades. Here are some of the key milestones of the campaign so far:. Early 1980s: A strong beginning. Our group was also involved in large-scale decision making including the Freight Network Review and the subsequent Local Impacts Committee. 2001: Commissioned Roe Highway Community survey report.

In early 2000 an announcement by the Main Roads Department of WA to continue with the proposal to extend the Roe Highway (Stage 8) through the Beeliar Wetlands resulted in a public meeting of the North Lake Residents Association.
