Pass the veggies: Use it up!

One family's explorations towards living a natural life through our choices, our faith and our daily events. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Thursday is grocery day. I have a love/hate relationship with the arrival of the food. I love opening the bins of groceries, seeing the bountiful fresh produce and imagining how good it tastes! Mini sweet peppers (seem so cute but challenging to slice up). And a few random potatoes. Make a veggie dip using dill and serve carrots and peppers with this. As I set a bowl...

The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Occasionally I come across a book that seems to be speaking directly to me. No, not in the crazy way, but with such alarming accuracy that the words seem anticipated. The Unbearable Lightness of Being has been around for quite a while and has even spawned an arthouse softcore movie version. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sometime poetess and hierophant. Gringos tend to cut my un-voluminous hair better than Latinas with their incredible manes. 52 Yet, what I don’t want is a color job. I like my natural color, but know my mother is going to try to persuade me to go blonder. 56 I can’t wait to spend my Christmas gift certificates that I didn’t have time to use then.

On the other side of the border. Tuesday, June 27, 2006. As I keep writing, it's getting really hot down here in México. And along with the heat, out come the critters. On the other side of the border. Sunday, July 30, 2006. Like parents, like son. It's already too late. My son has picked up on one of our terrible traits- he's a night owl just like we are. Oh, well. On the other side of the border. Tuesday, September 26, 2006. Make sure you have a very ripe peach on hand. Preferably the soft supermarkert variety that actually has no flavor and turns to mush as you eat it. Or if you have no guilt about wasting perfectly good food, go for a sweet, juicy full-flavor, organic peach. Once anxiety comes over you, let your frustrastions out on your peach. Don t keep any of it in! I hope it works for you all! Good thing she was happy too that it calmed him down). By the way...
