We are an independent society associated with the General Society of the War of 1812, and the many State Societies of the War of 1812. We keep alive the memory of the War of 1812 in the District of Columbia by conducting civic ceremonies at key historic sites in the District, presenting ROTC awards, and hosting an annual reception and historical lecture each February.

The most recent expansion. Of the USA was largely accomplished by the Democratic Party. According to most (British influenced) American historians, "King" James. And was a SHRIMP (like Napoleon). Everybody thinks it was General Andrew Jackson. That "won" the War of 1812. Not so. The war was already over when he became victorious in New Orleans. General Jacob Brown. Is the forgotten hero of the War of 1812. I find it extremely odd and inappropriate that hardly anyone in the USA has ever heard of this guy!
