Who survived the first and second day of pre-school just fine). is really interested in family stories. Before I kiss him goodnight he often wants me to tell. A family story. He'll say. "Daddy. tell me a story about you and Uncle Matt". Or "tell me the story of when I ate peanut butter and you had to call the Rescue Heroes". They are typically short 3 minute vignettes about growing up or a particularly memorable experience. Or has its own moral. Or shows how a different part of life. Us with memory. ...

Mrs Bob Writes: May 2015

Inane Blatherings and Inconsequential Musings. Thursday, May 21, 2015. I love having good kids music. I love music that puts scripture and confessions into my kids heads. Jamie Soles. Does a great job, unfortunately, however, a lot of his later music is getting too rocky for my taste. But his earlier CDs are great, I mean who else would make a song about sacrifices? Lately the kids have been listening to a lot of Dana Dirksen. You can download her music for free here. And I answered, "Why? In no apparent...

The Jones Archive: Contagious Tranquility
http://thejonesarchive.blogspot.com/2015/01/contagious-tranquility.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Peter used this passage this week in one of our family worship times. He made the point that while sickness is usually contagious and transferred from one person to another, wellness is not passed in the same way. In this story, Jesus does not become infected by the affliction of the sick woman. Rather, he transfers His purity or cleanness to her and she is made well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Jones Archive: Slave of All?
http://thejonesarchive.blogspot.com/2014/12/slave-of-all.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. I was recently considering the phrase, "Whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.". I just looked up the passage and Jesus goes on in His teaching to His disciples,. And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.". Especially the idea of "slave of all". What would that look like? Sometimes other people are just too slow for me. Man, tha...

The Jones Archive: Writing as Obedience
http://thejonesarchive.blogspot.com/2014/11/writing-as-obedience.html
Sunday, November 23, 2014. I do not like writing. It does not make me happy. It is tedious and full of all kinds of detail that I hate to worry about or mess with. This probably accounts for why I've never worked on it and improved my ability to do it. Well, so we are not alike in some areas! Sometimes I act like that. Its not a one time lesson is it? Slowly, slowly He bring us along. Good post. November 25, 2014 at 12:11 PM. November 26, 2014 at 12:35 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Resources, I...

The Family: May 2010
http://thefamilyandmore.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 20, 2010. February. Huh. Didn't think it had been that long! Maybe I'll get some pictures up soon or post my review of kindergarten with Anna or a recipe or something. Something. I was just reading the Beatitudes in Matthew 5. It's really easy to pray for verses 3-9 - meekness, comfort, gentleness, righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, peace. Verses 10-11? I mean, it's not like I'd be rewording or falsifying Scripture. Wrong answer. I do. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Family: April 2015
http://thefamilyandmore.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. So, it seems blogging has taken a multi year slump. Thinking about resurrecting it again, as a sort of online journal sans the "oh look at me! Narcissism that Facebook seems to feed in me. Blogging also kept me current with fun memories or events without the melancholy that my personal journaling contains. And now, a picture. Monday, February 21, 2011. These were on a sidebar, thought it would be disingenuous to leave it up and look like I've been a more prolific reader than I really have been.
