Thursday, 19 January 2012. We have a rather nice model workshop at my school,. The newest feature is a small foundry that I wanted to learn to use. I used one of the old rotten header clamps as pattern, but it had a lot of small rust craters that would drag out the sand when I tried to make the mould. That was dealt with by covering the thing with a sheet of 0.5mm acrylic on the vacuum table. See the lousy cell phone video below. The drag and cope. They're already looking way better than the original.

Friday, 4 November 2011. Suddenly I discovered that the brake master cylinder was leaking so I started looking around for a rebuild kit. These kits turned up to be rather expensive so I figured I might as well just buy a complete working cylinder/resevoir with lever and all and do away with the old ugly and rattling one. One thing led to the other so right now I am in process of completely redo the handlebarcontrols and front brake. Stainless steel braided brake line and fixings. A post coat mock-up.

Wednesday, 11 April 2012. Bring your own 3D glasses. An anaglyph is a picture that shows a 3 dimensional image when seen through a special pair of glasses with different lens colours. Usually the right lens is blue and the left is red. As you will know from my last post I just returned from Japan. There will be a few more posts in the future about various subjects regarding that trip. Today I followed a random tutorial on the web to try to make some anaglyphs and they actually turned out pretty cool.

Wednesday, 28 September 2011. Crazy Tuned '77 Z1000. I found this one parked at the site for our new school project. Amongst a lot of mods the engine has been bored to 1300ccm, been fitted with new cams, flat slide Mikuni carbs and exhaust. The guy who started this build even chose to modify the main bearings heavily. And mount totally overkill carbon fiber wheels.
