It's All About Books: Book Review Discussion: Mania by J.R. Johansson
http://sueysbooks.blogspot.com/2015/08/book-review-discussion-mania-by-jr.html
Thursday, August 6, 2015. Book Review Discussion: Mania by J.R. Johansson. Book: Mania by J.R. Johansson. Rating:★ ★ ★ ☆☆. For: Utah Book Month. From: Received for free from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. This is the third in the Nightwalkers trilogy. Beware: some potential spoilers for the first two books might appear here! We also learn quite a lot about the dad of these two boys in this book. And I decided I didn't like him much. What cryptic man he was! Can you handle readi...
It's All About Books: Book Review Discussion: Erasing Time by C.J. Hill
http://sueysbooks.blogspot.com/2015/05/book-review-discussion-erasing-time-by.html
Thursday, May 21, 2015. Book Review Discussion: Erasing Time by C.J. Hill. Book: Erasing Time by C.J. Hill. 9733; ★ ★ ★ ☆. Oh, PS. I wanted to mention that C.J. Hill is actually Janette Rallison (who I spent time with last week). She is known for her fluffy fun high school drama YA contemporaries, so when she decided to write science fiction she wrote under this name C. J. Hill, which is actually her mom's nom de plume. Fun romp into the future with a look at a world that really isn't that great! I parti...
It's All About Books: My #Storymakers15 Experience
http://sueysbooks.blogspot.com/2015/05/my-storymakers15-experience.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Finally finally finally I managed to be brave enough to go to this writing conferenc. Again, it's one of those things I'd heard about for years but thought, eh, that's not for me. I'm "not in that tribe." It appears these things sometimes take time for me and I must ponder them awhile. I would have gone last year except for all the weddings I had to deal with. So last year, I committed to going this year. I was so excited! Our adventure started on Thursday with Boot Camp. I talke...

Sunday, May 17, 2015. Currently: Foggy Brain Edition. To the album Sun by Thomas Bergerson. Guys. I love these songs so much. Seriously. I need to convert someone to this love. Who's it going to be? The only TV I watched this week is Survivor. But there's no one to root for since Joe was voted off a few weeks ago. So. Why am I still watching? Because these people are crazy! I did finish the first season of Reign and ah! I hope they will be here in the summer and I can binge watch them all! It's going to ...

Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Review: Deep and Dark and Dangerous: A Ghost Story by Mary Downing Hahn. Book: Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn. This is one of the first books I've read to prepare for the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair this yearbecause among other things, I'll be helping with the book talks. Sunday, October 28, 2012. It's 10:00pm, Do you know where your children are? To clicks, snores, purrs, and quiet. All the sounds of the night. The cool of the mornings around here. I do believe that fall has arrived. I know that some of my friends have had snow, but here we call it wonderful! We are able to dine outside, enjoy evening walks again and actually wear a light sweater in the morning. Love it! Why am I up this late? He has the 'organized' brain. I am the 'creative genius'! Why am I still awake?

Saturday, June 29, 2013. Happy Saturday.today I am sharing a slice of my summer life! To fulfill my challenge to read a Book-a-Day this summer I seem to be frequenting this special place. I LOVE this library! It's not cozy and quiet, but it's a place filled with energy. It is swarming with people really using every part of this place. Yet. it somehow radiates peace. I LOVE these ceilings. AND this quiet sentry, guarding the door.he's my own personal book-soldier! Talk about making lemons into lemonade!

Sunday, March 31, 2013. To a winding down evening. The tick of the clock, the click of the keys, the quiet voices of the family. Love it. It rings of peace. It was just Rich and myself for Easter dinner but we seemed to snack away the evening. Argh. I did have celebratory Easter Ice cream after being sugar free for 3 weeks. What a treat. Now I am in sugar rush overload. Grins! And Of Human Bondage. On my iPad.) Both are excellent! Fingers are crossed and Prayers are flying. NCAA Basketball. My Wildca...

Sunday, July 21, 2013. Sunday salon - Monsoon Madness style. Living in the desert like I do brings a real appreciation for the wet stuff - RAIN. Today is a juicy, humid, rainy, monsoon filled day! It has rained off and on all day, including thunder/lightning and flash floods. Okay, we love it when we are protected and safe and have working A/C. As it is Sunday I thought I should update my week. I read here this week. I read about Albert Einstein, Jane Goodall, science experiments, The Fixer Upper. I know...

September 10, 2014. September 10, 2014. This work injures me; this work heals me. My friend Ryan likens me to the Wizard of Oz. It’s actually laughably funny how common of a reaction this is from people who meet me face-to-face. Have I really done that great job of building up self-protective walls? I relate so much to Maleficent. One way is to find community safety alternatives, which begins with trusting one another and showing up for each other in ways that aren’t just transformative in the anti...

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Utah Book Month 2015: Utah Authors, A Photo Essay. As you all already know, I manage to get out to a ton of author events throughout the year, most of them being in support of Utah authors. Even though I've posted these all before, I thought putting them altogether in celebration of Utah authors this week would be fun. So here, once again, are all the Utah authors I've come in contact with since last year's Utah Books Month! Charlie Holmberg, Amy Finnegan and David Powers King.
