Give them triumph now. 1997-2012, a musical retrospective. Mar 16th, 2012 at 9:34 AM. I used to do one of these every year or so. What on earth happened? Interesting, possibly off-puttingly freakish fact: I've only been listening to music since I was 15. In the way that people usually listen to music, that is. Prior to the age of 15 my access to music was limited to singing in a Baptist school choir. They are (I think) my top ten song of (mostly) all time. 1 The Heart Asks Pleasure First Michael Nyman.

Give them triumph now. Every Day I Dream About Sunshine. Mar 11th, 2012 at 6:59 PM. When I was a kid, I loved rain. Chilly, wet, foggy, grey days. I preferred winter over summer. "You can always put on more clothes, but you can only get so naked! I would say, referring to the heat vs cold debate. I was born in January, I just assumed that ice was in my bones. And in the winter, I am completely and totally screwed. The price to be paid, is, I suppose, the winter months. When I forget that, just becaus...

POETS ONLINE blog: Tales of Stubborn Children
http://poetsonline.blogspot.com/2007/06/tales-of-stubborn-children.html
June 23, 2007. Tales of Stubborn Children. For July, we are looking at Peter Murphy's poem "The Stubborn Child". From his book Stubborn Child. Which was a finalist for the 2006 Paterson Poetry Prize. The poem has its inspiration in a fairy tale of the same name from the Brothers Grimm. That was one of the few books in my life that I threw out. I didn't even want to give it to a used book sale. No doctor could cure him, and in a short time, he lay on his deathbed. So the child’s mother had to go to ...
