Monday, September 28, 2009. To mark the end of Summer, a small group of us decided to go camping trip on the Oregon Coast. And when at the Oregon Coast (especially in Tillamook County), you've gotta stop by the Tillamook Cheese Factory for cheese, ice cream, and beef jerk i.e. all things "cow.". Most of us had...

What's on the menu. Sunday, September 28, 2014. Tillamook's BRUNCH VILLAGE at Feast Portland. We started with Country Cat's. Bacon birch syrup cinnamon roll and what a way to start off the morning! I could have eaten two of these little pieces of heaven but knew it would be wise to save my stomach for another sweet treat. We wondered over to one of Stumptown's. Three stations and found cold brew on Nitro. Then, it was time for a Bloody Mary from Whole Foods. Last, I finished with Pine State Biscuit's.

Eating and hiking around Portland. Monday, September 29, 2008. Rather than eat at the roach coach around the corner from my house, last night Loni and I made our own tacos! I'd started some pinto beans soaking in the morning before our hike, and cooked them after I got back in my new stainless pressure cooker (thanks, Emily! Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to buy good food. I got some thick handmade tortillas rather than stack two of the thin ones. Update: Added a habanero and serrano pepper to...

Living local in Eugene, OR. Laquo; Winter squash soup. A new home for our blog. The Country Cat in Portland. January 12, 2009 by Amy. Our weekend trip to Portland was successful on all accounts. In addition to picking up our beans at the Hillsdale Farmer’s Market, we also spent time with some of our closest friends, picked up a Harsch crock at the Mirador Community Store. And ate dinner at The Country Cat. The Country Cat was a recommendation from Eugene friends (thanks Brian and Caroline! I wish I had a...
