http://jahntasticangler.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
A look at life based on the fishing experiences of a fully grown man-child. Wednesday, November 11, 2009. I’d never had much luck with this surf rod in the past so I had no idea how heavy it quickly got with a five-pound fish and a river pulling against it. I held the rod at the reel base between my right middle and ring fingers while bracing the butt against my forearm for extra support. I felt like Sly Stalone in Over the Top, engaged in the arm wrestling match of my life. Look at this girl! I re-clasp...

The Jahntastic Angler: May 2010

A look at life based on the fishing experiences of a fully grown man-child. Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Rainy Day Record Rock. Happy to see only one vehicle already parked at the Mayo Bridge’s lot, I walked out into the cool and damp Richmond morning, rod in hand, down the familiar path to the James’ fall line. I staked my claim just above the unmistakable rock landmark used for shad season, as the earlier bird had taken roost closer to the rapids several yards west. 8220;What’s up man? 8220;Oh, hey! We’re gonna need a bigger boat. September 17, 2008. New hobby….ahhh yesss. This summer I got into surfing, loved it. Once you ride that first decent wave it’s the greatest feeling in the world. I honestly thought about what it would be like to be a surfing bum. I’d just move to Hawaii and live on the beach. I’d be just livin.’ Well this isn’t exactly me but its fun to think about. That’s not me but it’d be cool if it was. Posted in My Life. Laquo; You gotta see it before you buy it. On September 24, 2008.
