WAND Network Research Group: libprotoident
http://research.wand.net.nz/software/libprotoident.php
Libprotoident supports over 300 different application protocols and this number will continue to grow over the course of future releases! The latest version is 2.0.9. We've now set up a bug tracker and wiki for libprotoident. Libprotoident is now available on GitHub. If you extend libprotoident or add support for new protocols and would like your additions to make it into the next release, please don't hesitate to send us a pull request. On Mac OS X, libprotoident may also be installed using Homebrew.

WAND Network Research Group: Spoofing ARP from a DHCP Database
http://research.wand.net.nz/software/dhcparpd.php
Spoofing ARP from a DHCP Database. Dhcparpd is a tool to mitigate the effects of IP spoofing attacks on ethernet based networks. dhcparpd was initially written to help manage the conference network for Linux.Conf.AU held in Dunedin in January 2006. Dhcparpd does not stop the real host sending its own ARP response. You need to configure iptables/ebtables to block these packets. We have hacked the madwifi driver to add this functionality. The patch for this can be found in as ticket #278. Dhcparpd is curre...

WAND Network Research Group: AMP
http://research.wand.net.nz/software/amp.php
AMP is a system designed to continuously perform active network measurements between a mesh of specialist monitor machines, as well as to other targets of interest. These measurements are used to provide both a view of long-term network performance as well as to detect notable network events when they happen. There are AMP monitors deployed at most universities in New Zealand, at major sites on the REANNZ. Network and at many New Zealand Internet Service Providers. The AMP software originated at NLANR.

WAND Network Research Group: libtcpcsm
http://research.wand.net.nz/software/tcpcsm.php
The libtcpcsm software is designed to facilitate the analysis of TCP sending behaviour, i.e. detecting loss and reordering events or tracking congestion window size, in packet header traces. It is based on the libtrace. The software consists of both libtcpcsm, a library that passively detects TCP congestion events in network traffic traces, and a series of tools built using libtcpcsm. The latest version is 1.0.3. Libtcpcsm and any tools built using it are licensed under the GPL v2. Each tool can be run w...

WAND Network Research Group: DCCP
http://research.wand.net.nz/software/dccp.php
DCCP (Datagram Congestion Control Protocol) is a transport level protocol designed to transport data over unreliable sessions using congestion control. It has been released as a series of RFCs (4340-4342) and has an IETF working group tracking it's progress. The home page for this protocol is at: DCCP Home page. WAND have been working on an implementation of DCCP for the Linux kernel. This has been used for various internal projects in the WAND lab and as a basis for research on the DCCP protocol. Dccp-0...

WAND Network Research Group: FPGA NTP Server
http://research.wand.net.nz/hardware/ntp.php
The hardware platform for this project is the Zedboard. Produced by Avnet. These boards are based around the Xilinx Zynq-7000 SoC. Which provides a dual-core ARM processing system and FPGA programmable logic in one package. The Zedboards have an onboard Gigabit ethernet connection, however, It is not possible to route this directly into the programmable logic so an ethernet daughter board is required to achieve the necessary performance for the NTP server. Buffer 1 and 2 Memory Address:.
