The previous 5 years Bohnstedt lived in the Washington D.C. area freelancing on a regular basis for The Washington Post and The Baltimore Sun. Graduating from Texas A&M in 1989 with a B.S. in photojournalism, Bohnstedt worked as a staff photographer for several newspapers across the country, while freelancing as a commercial photographer for numerous ad agencies and major corporations.
