The MAME Project: September 2008
http://themameproject.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 11, 2008. This is going to be a series of posts detailing the construction of our MAME. Machine. Don't expect it to be updated too often because extra capital and time will be hard to come by at first. I wanted to do this because there are so many resources online that have been invaluable in the planning process for this project. More or less, I want to give back to that community. I'll add some of the links I found most helpful to the right. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The MAME Project: March 2009
http://themameproject.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 9, 2009. We are both really pleased with the final product. Two months of work and we have an arcade machine in our dining room! Video of the startup (with custom graphics/sounds) to come soon! Installing the marquee wasn't the most fun thing to do, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. TIP: If you are building one of these things, print two copies of your marquee graphic. From Tecmo Bowl is the unofficial mascot of Return of the Super Kombat Turtles from Space II Turbo Remix. Saturday, January 31, 2009. Friday, January 30, 2009. On the drafting table (read: kitchen counter). Button mock-ups to get a feel for spacing. CP measurements done! Read Alex's detailed post below. Last night we really finished up most of our planning. After finally having all the pieces in hand, we sat down and starting to seriously look at dimensions. We're almost certainly going with LuSiD's. For the CP stuff, Talking Octopus'. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Saturday, January 24, 2009. I had a nice sprea...

The MAME Project: Bezel
http://themameproject.blogspot.com/2009/03/bezel.html
Monday, March 9, 2009. We trimmed down the monitor bezel and acrylic with the Dremel and a razor blade for a more precise fit. After giving the TV a good Windexing, we lined up both pieces, tucked them behind the speaker panel, and drilled 2 screws (bottom left, bottom right) into the 2x2s to keep everything in place. I just have a few quick questions. Great job, by the way. How big is your monitor and where did you get the bezel? April 5, 2009 at 12:05 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs. I play video games, which I think is a far superior addiction to any of those other ones. Making real progress now. I'm almost at the point where I can call the project 'done'. The only major thing that's left, is the artwork. My albatross. My white whale. Wider shot of the admin buttons.
