HISTORY OF WILDCAT CREEK. The Wildcat valley is rich in history. The Wea and Shawnee Indian tribes had settlements near Wildcat Creek. Particularly in the Lafayette area. The Wildcat valley experienced French influence from the coureur de bois (French for half-breed trapper) of Canada, who lived and traded with the local Indian tribes. Cabins and trails grew into towns and roadways as trade increased in the Wildcat Creek. Is made possible with the help of the Wildcat Guardians.

A grassroots organization dedicated to improving the health and beauty of Wildcat Creek. They are an active group that does a lot to help the river corridor. Wildcat Canoe and Kayak Too. Operating on the Lower Valley of the North Fork from May through October. They are located right across the river from the Mis-So-La Access Site. Based in Indianapolis, this canoe club is the largest in the state. It is an active club that offers many training and paddling opportunities in Indiana and beyond.

ABOUT WILD CAT CRAFTS. So far, I've been making bags and accessories from upcycled fabric, as you can see in the photos above, but I hope to design and print my own fabric, do some bookbinding, pyrography, enamelling, silk painting, weaving, free machine embroidery and leather work - so many crafts, so little time!
