No-one is better placed to comment on the huge changes in the sherry industry over that time. If history is less your thing, these enticing chapters can be skipped though with a 21. Century, including Sandeman and Harvey. In part I feel like I’m reading something of an adventure story. The book is additionally full of wonderful snippets of rela...

A version of this article was first published in the August 2014 issue of Drinks Business. This stance of doing the science, offering an alternative to chemicals, then doing the education, is enabling the NZ industry to change people’s behaviour. For leafroll virus, high on the agenda as a national issue, the science is sti...

Festive spirits | GrapeChoice

Find me a drink. THE roast chicken wine. December 18, 2014 · 3:40 pm. It’s nearly Christmas and that means the season of eating and drinking is upon us. I’m partial to a festive cocktail or two and these recipes are perfect for using up those extra ingredients you have lying around the kitchen at this time of year. Got some cranberries going spare? Try the Christmas Southside. 35ml Tanqueray London Dry. With any leftover mincemeat, go for a Mincemeat Irish. 50ml Sainsbury’s Irish Cream. Add all of the in...

Find me a drink. Monthly Archives: February 2015. February 2, 2015 · 9:38 pm. Today has got to have been the coldest of winter so far. When I arrived home this evening, it took a fair while to thaw out my icy fingers and toes, and that was with gloves and thick socks on! If, like me, you’re in need of a glass of something warming on such an evening, pop down to Aldi and pick up a bottle of the plummy Vignobles Rousselet Pinot Noir. Or the rich, cherry-spiked Venturer Costières de Nîmes.

Find me a drink. Monthly Archives: June 2015. June 9, 2015 · 7:56 pm. A recent trip to Rome has reintroduced me to the tangy, bitter-sweet flavours of Aperol. An Italian aperitif made using a ‘secret’ blend of bitter orange, rhubarb, vanilla and various herbs, this orange drink is widely enjoyed in Italy and is fast becoming a summer staple of mine. You can pick up a bottle of Aperol in most UK supermarkets for around 15. Filed under Taste Test. Everything is just peachy. Award-winning reds for Easter.

Skiffergatan 5: september 2014

http://skiffergatan5.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Blandade örter (rosmarin, persilja and timjan).

Random breathing | Purple Running

Sally Easton's journey to the London Marathon 2013 and beyond. Look at all that air to breathe. Breathing seems to have come up a lot in various conversations recently, and magazine articles. My last visit to the magical Michaela. For my shoulder got me thinking, as she was talking to me about breathing to help my shoulder. It seems the shoulder is related to lots of other bits the diagonally opposite hip for example, interestingly it is my weaker leg side. Spooky, maybe she’s right! I tried this ‘deep b...

What does a runner look like? | Purple Running

Sally Easton's journey to the London Marathon 2013 and beyond. What does a runner look like? Ready for the London marathon 2013. A growing handful of people are telling me I look like a runner. I’ve so far failed to explore what they mean by that. I must challenge the next person (if there is one) who makes such a comment. Do runners have a particular physiognomy? Watching the World Championships in Moscow you’d have to say not. There are lots of different shapes and sizes out there. August 20, 2013.

Bournemouth marathon – the false start | Purple Running

Sally Easton's journey to the London Marathon 2013 and beyond. Bournemouth marathon the false start. Not doing enough of this. Well, I did enter the Bournemouth marathon, which runs on Oct 6. In my defence, I have been a bit pre-occupied with swimming. On which subject it’s all gone to my head literally – I’m learning tumble turns now. Future post. Last session was tough, really tough. My hips hurt. That’s a first. I’m assuming it’s because I was trying to run faster. My ticking over has involved sourcin...

Effort – 1, ability – 0 | Purple Running

http://purplerunning.com/swim/effort-1-ability-0

Sally Easton's journey to the London Marathon 2013 and beyond. Effort 1, ability 0. I imagine the slightly sardonic, droll tone of the football scores announcer on the telly. And it’s not as bad the headline suggests. This is a post about a positive learning! As a swimming technique, relaxing was never really going to work for me, fearful of drowning, panicking in water, unable to breathe, even with my head above water, without hyperventilating. But I said at the time. RPE) had anything to do with swimmi...

A Question of Balance. Wonderful Wines from Spain. Give Thanks for Good Wine. View my complete profile. Saturday, February 14, 2009. A Question of Balance. It’s no secret wines contain acid, some more than others, based on the choice of grape used. High acid wines lacking balance get your attention immediately; the acidity burns your mouth and tastes sour or tart. Nevertheless, acidity is good; it increases saliva, readies your palate for food, and makes wine a wonderful food complement. I recently opene...
