The World As I See It. Monday, August 27, 2007. To Istanbul. Today Istanbul with its skyline studded with domes and minarets, is home to 14 million of the 68 million people living in Turkey. Lined with hip restaurants, cafes and bars where both men and women crowded the streets. The later the hour, the more crowded the pedestrian mall became.
