Thoughts; A Flame: January 2010
http://blog.chriskrycho.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 18, 2010. One of the mysteries of my life is my friendship with Stephen Carradini. As Stephen himself commented to me recently, he lives my life. The months since our wedding have been a time of upheaval, struggle, fear and pain as Jaimie battles depression. That the Holy Spirit is working for our good. We hold to that truth with all our strength; sometimes we have nothing else. Links to this post. Friday, January 15, 2010. On Writing Well in the Digital Age. William Zinnser on the need t...

Thoughts; A Flame: Biography
http://blog.chriskrycho.com/p/biography.html
For those who are curious, I am a Reformed baptist, though I am happy to be a member at Wildwood Community Church, which is neither Reformed nor denominationally Baptist. A friend once summed up my theological views accurately, if rather humorously, by calling my a Pres-matic Bap-terian: part Presbyterian, part charismatic, and part Baptist. In short, I am a strange person. And I found a very good thing indeed! Spend some time reading her blog, Refining Process. Links to this post. My new home online.

Monday, November 15, 2010. Debt and Dogged Discipline. Over the course of college, I racked up a total of $16,500 in scholastic debt—not much by comparison to many of my peers, but still far more than I wanted. God willing, that will finally be paid off next month. I can hardly wait to click the button that will confirm the final electronic payment and free me once and for all from this chain. Outstanding debts. That will be a. Now, how exactly did Jaimie and I manage to do so well? In addition, we kept ...

Thoughts; A Flame: March 2010

Monday, March 29, 2010. Scripture, Missiology, and Trying Too Hard. Sometimes, I try too hard. Like right now. I've been trying to think of something to write for Pillar on the Rock for the last two hours. Tried a few things. they did not work. I took a break, read my Bible for an hour, studied Titus in serious detail. 8212;not least since the Scriptures are filled with narratives. I think they have a good point; western Christianity has certainly been overly preoccupied with argument. However, I...Where...

Thoughts; A Flame: October 2010
http://blog.chriskrycho.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. I'm feeling sick, so I'm going to read for a little bit and then go to sleep in the hope that tomorrow I will be well enough to go to work. I will, regardless, post my 501st blog on this site then, and offer some thoughts about what I've learned in the last month, what I plan for the future, etc. Sleep well, and God bless. Links to this post. Friday, October 29, 2010. One of those nights. Jaimie's car died today. I walked in circles for half an hour tonight. My job is frustrating.

Thoughts; A Flame: The End of an Era
http://blog.chriskrycho.com/2010/12/end-of-era.html
Wednesday, December 1, 2010. The End of an Era. Over five years ago, I started what ultimately became. Thoughts; A Flame. 8212;a project that has lived under many names, and carried many different kinds of content—poetry, songs, web design tips, theology, personal stories, everything but recipes and child-rearing advice. Going to write a novel next year, I would almost certainly be putting Thoughts; A Flame to rest for that reason alone. As it is, I simply will not be blogging at. That may prove quite a ...

Tuesday, February 23, 2010. How Mono is like Sin, and other ramblings. It's been a month since I last blogged here. I've had mono. And one of the consequences has been an inability to focus for long periods of time. For obvious reasons, that puts a bit of a damper on my blogging ability. Seeing as I have a pretty solid commitment elsewhere. On a regular basis, the result has been my absence from this blog. (I'd have been more worried if I had more regular readers! Being unable to concentrate for long per...

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. Musings from the Month. I have blogged a good deal less this month than the previous few. The transition into fall is always interesting. I have on the one hand been working on another web design project (which, to my annoyance, has stagnated through creative blocks, but hopefully will continue to come along soon), and on the other spending a great deal of time enjoying. A few things I've been chewing on recently:. The necessity of the Holy Spirit in Bible study. This one is ...

Thoughts; A Flame: June 2010
http://blog.chriskrycho.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 29, 2010. It happened again today. I found myself at work,. Apparently, the Holy Spirit means business, and He's going to sanctify me, whether my flesh is interested or not. (That's good, given my flesh's stated disinterest in the things of God.). Someone asked me to do something immoral. Mad, or even. Someone asked me to do something stupid. None of this escaped my lips, of course. I am far too skilled a sinner to let others. About my depravity, at least where I can hide it. For that m...
