Quiltniques!

Saturday, August 1, 2015. Oh, go soak your batting. I hope your summer is going well, and you are making time to have fun with the family, and, of course, Quilting! I’m now back in the studio after being in upstate NY with my sister, who had open-heart surgery in July. For those of you who have been praying for her – Thank you so much! She is making a remarkable recovery, indeed. News from the Studio. I call the quilting pattern “hooked feathers” and it is done free-motion (no pantograph). DO "wash" batt...

Quiltniques!: June 2015

http://www.quiltniques.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The NE TN Shop Hop wrapped up last Saturday. What a whirlwind! News From the Studio. The quilt was made from fabric exchanged at the Old Town Guild Christmas Party - 2014. Friend Sandy took it with her to guild meeting last week for show and tell (while I was recovering from the shop hop trip). Thanks, Sandy. The Mystery Quilt Workshop quilt, What Knots is on the frame - swirls this time. I long for good light in my quilting area. It's in the plan for next year - maybe. She gave...

Saturday, February 28, 2015. What's the point, anyway? Have you taken any of the classes on Craftsy. Several classes, but had never actually done. One You know, actually worked along with the class on the specific projects used for learning. But, right now, I am actually doing. As a perfectionist quilter, I agonize over every seam and point match, every cut, pressing, etc. As a result, I piece pretty well. But I met my match in one of my own designs! Precision Piecing by Norah McMeeking. Do it over IF.

Quiltniques!: July 2015

http://www.quiltniques.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 2, 2015. Nothing up my sleeve. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve just been heads-down, in my own world just puttering along with my own projects. And suddenly, life steps in and all the plans and projects mean something different. My sister, who lives 700 miles from me, will be having major surgery soon, and will need someone with her for a while. Of course, I want to be that person! News From the Studio. That Mystery Quilt from the May workshop is finally done! New Panto in the Studio.

Quiltniques!: May 2015

http://www.quiltniques.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 24, 2015. The Quilt of Valor group also had a gallery of quilts. I love this one. This one is my show favorite. Sorry, I didn't get a close up of the quilting. The whole quilt was just so sweet, and the quilting was absolutely perfect for the quilt. And it came with a nice story. It was made by a bee to remember 3 of their members who had passed away. News from the Studio. Since the quilt is all batiks, it was important to practice on batik with the same thread I will use on the quilt. My DS ...

Zondag 21 juni 2015.

Quilt Ninja

Monday, April 1, 2013. I Haven't Updated in Foreeeever. So, this year I've finished one quilt before the local quilt show. One. And I gave it to my brother. That means there will be no quilts from me. However, I have started a block of the month over on Wired. And then the GeekMom blog moved off of Wired, so I'm not sure what will happen with those links. The new pattern will have to go on the GeekMom.com site. Meanwhile, my daughter made the most gorgeous quilt for the show:. Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

Sunday, May 31, 2015. Almost Done - Postage stamp. One year in the making. it is now quilted and just needs the binding. Saturday, June 21, 2014. Scrap Happy Saturday and new garden. I have finally given in to the many years of prodding from my dh - I've planted a garden. But not a garden in the dirt cuz I have never been one to enjoy digging in the dirt - no mud pies or sand castles for me. This garden uses no dirt and produces no weeds - it's The Tower Garden. Check out of finishes and RSC at Confessio...
