The Clothed Cook

Move over the Naked Chef. Here comes the Clothed Cook! Wednesday, November 22, 2006. There was only a few dishes that I could make as a kid. I felt so proud as if I have accomplished something great by making a dish to the school fair. However there were some experiments that I just wish I could forget. Everytime someone from my childhood mentions how I have grown up and now can cook, my dad tells this one story. A story I would rather forget. But after reading Trupti's post. So from that day onward, my d...

The Clothed Cook: Red Capsicum Chutney

http://theclothedcook.blogspot.com/2006/08/red-capsicum-chutney.html

Move over the Naked Chef. Here comes the Clothed Cook! Sunday, August 20, 2006. After a western dish, I thought I should follow with an indian red capsicum dish. Since I had some red capsicums (I think americans call it red bell pepper) left over I thought I would make a chutney. However after discovering food blogs I came across Indira's version. This is a quick chutney that we had with rice, on bread, as a dip and just like that. A truly versatile chutney. 2 dried red chillies. 3 or 4 cloves garlic.

The Clothed Cook: August 2006

http://theclothedcook.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

Move over the Naked Chef. Here comes the Clothed Cook! Tuesday, August 22, 2006. As soon as I saw this month's JFI Ingredient. Was Milk I knew exactly what to make. I thought that being milk based it had to be a dessert and what better than Kalakand. Well this sweet is probably not really Kalakand but pretty close to it. I have never been a very patient cook and this is probably what has put me off making basundi (one of my favourites! 2 cups Full Cream Milk Powder. 300 mL Thickened Cream. Mix well. A...

The Clothed Cook: Chicky Chicky!

http://theclothedcook.blogspot.com/2006/10/chicky-chicky.html

Move over the Naked Chef. Here comes the Clothed Cook! Thursday, October 26, 2006. After the day of eating rich foods and heavy meals, the next day we weren't too keen on a big breakfast. Since I had some Turkish bread I thought I would make a simple hummus and chickpea salad. Short and sweet but high in calcium! 1 can chickpeas or 400g chickpeas soaked overnight and cooked. 1 or 2 garlic cloves. This is seasame butter (like peanut butter but made with seasames). Add lemon juice to the this mix. Looks and...

Move over the Naked Chef. Here comes the Clothed Cook! Monday, October 23, 2006. Deepavali Shubhakankshalu (Happy Diwali! Happy Deepavali (Belated) to all of you! Hope all of you have a properous and happy year! Of course Deepavali is not the same without the sweets. So here I am writing up my two cents on my version of Kheer.
