QIPARTNER is an acronym for:. Is a Practice Based Research Network (PBRN) comprised of licensed acupuncturists, researchers and students. QIPARTNER is presented by the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine Research Department. After observing a substantial need for a collection and reference for case study research in world of Traditional Chinese Medicine an innovative group of teachers, researchers and students developed QIPARTNER as a graduate capstone project in 2009.

A major shift is happening in the world of research for Alternative Medicine, with more emphasis being placed on clinical experiences rather than the traditionally sterile data collected from randomly controlled trials. The mechanisms in which acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine specifically work within the body are still unknown, and therefore randomized controlled trials cannot fully be dependent upon to determine the efficacy of acupuncture and TCM.
